If you have lost a loved one to suicide, you are not alone. Losing a loved one to suicide is difficult and can come with a lot of complicated emotions like grief, anger, shame, and regret. The experiences and feelings following a suicide loss can be painful, complex, and often overwhelming. There is support available to help survivors of suicide loss like you, your friends, and family cope with the loss

Programs, resources, counseling, and trainings to support those who have lost someone to suicide is referred to as postvention. Early studies demonstrate that postvention plays a critical role in helping with the grieving process and decreasing the incidence of complicated grief, suicidal ideation, and poor adjustment to the loss.The Minnesota Department of Health has created a website to help suicide loss survivors find support, resources, and hope.
