The LivingWorks ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) is a two-day interactive workshop designed to equip you with essential skills to intervene with someone who may be experiencing thoughts of suicide. What You Will Learn:\n\nHow to develop a personalized safety plan to ensure someone’s immediate safety and connect them with further support.\nEffective communication strategies to openly talk about personal and community attitudes surrounding suicide.\nSkills to intervene and offer the necessary support in crisis situations.\n\nWhy Participate? Suicide prevention starts with you. By participating in this training, you will be better equipped to make a positive impact in the lives of those in your community and beyond. This training is ideal for community members and adults who work with youth, providing you with the tools and confidence to help someone in need. Don’t wait, take the first step in making a difference!\n\nJoin us on May 6-7th from 8 AM to 4 PM at Grand Portage Lodge and Casino. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided.\n\nThis training is funded through the Substance Misuse and Suicide Grant, which was awarded to the Cook County Department of Public Health. \n
