DESCRIPTION:M Health Fairview is hosting free virtual Psychological First Aid (PFA) training sessions! PFA is an evidence-informed community model. Trainees will learn how to support healthy recovery in individuals following a traumatic event, public health emergency, natural disaster or personal crisis. The curriculum integrates public and community health, and individual psychology.\nParticipants will learn:\n\nThe impact traumatic experiences can have on individuals\nThe five elements of the PFA framework and how to apply them\nHow to recognize when an individual should be referred to a mental health professional\n\nThe goal of PFA is to teach trainees how to reduce distress and negative health behaviors by providing practical help and promoting resilience.\nTraining sessions are free and open to any members of the community. Register for a training session online, or contact Kathryn.taylor@fairview.org ( mailto:Kathryn.taylor@fairview.org ).\n
