DESCRIPTION:M Health Fairview is hosting free virtual Psychological First Aid (PFA) training sessions! PFA is an evidence-informed community model. Trainees will learn how to support healthy recovery in individuals following a traumatic event, public health emergency, natural disaster or personal crisis. The curriculum integrates public and community health, and individual psychology.\nParticipants will learn:\n\nThe impact traumatic experiences can have on individuals\nThe five elements of the PFA framework and how to apply them\nHow to recognize when an individual should be referred to a mental health professional\n\nThe goal of PFA is to teach trainees how to reduce distress and negative health behaviors by providing practical help and promoting resilience.\nUpcoming Session Dates:\n\nWednesday, June 11, 11:00am – 1:00pm\nThursday, June 26, 1:00 – 3:00pm\n\nTraining sessions are free and open to any members of the community. Register for a training session online, or contact Kathryn.taylor@fairview.org ( mailto:Kathryn.taylor@fairview.org ).\n
