SUMMARY:Applied Suicide Skills Intervention Training (ASIST)
DESCRIPTION:Learn to provide suicide first aid. ASIST is a best practice in suicide prevention where participants learn to intervene and help prevent the immediate risk of suicide. Studies have proven that the ASIST method helps reduce suicidal feelings for those at risk. This is a two-day, 16 hour interactive workshop. This class has been approved by the Board of Social Work to provide 12 CEU’s upon completion (fee applies.) This class meets the continuing education requirement for teachers.\nThis is a free training and registration is required. Participants will need to bring or purchase lunch from a nearby restaurant.\nPlease note: the EventBrite page lists the start date (April 28) but this is a two-day training, April 28 and April 29. Participants must complete both days in order to receive CEUs.\n
